AwardsCongratulations to Derek Pollard on the award of the Bronze Wolf - this is the only award made by the World Organization of Scout Movements. It is given solely in recognition of outstanding service by an individual to the World Scout Movement. This citation is as follows: Derek Pollard, United Kingdom. Chairman, Constitutions Committee, Derek Pollard’s services and positions of high responsibility in Scouting, over an extended period of time at National and International level, have greatly contributed to the growth and development of the Movement. As a Member of the Board of the World Scout Foundation, he has done his best to contribute to improving relationships between that Body and the World Scout Committee. As Chairman of the Constitution’s Committee at world level, he has been instrumental in re-building the Committee and developing a body of doctoring to guide the decision-making process on constitutional matters. He has coupled his exceptional knowledge of Scouting, both as a Movement and as a value based educational Method, with such qualities as profound wisdom, balanced judgment, commonsense, firmness of purpose and capacity in assessing people, all processed and exercised at a very high standard.’ Editor’s Note: Another of our members holds this prestigious award – David Bull in recognition of the work he undertook as International Commissioner for the UK Scout Association and as a member and chairman of the European Committee of the World Organization of Scout Movements.
